I’ve spent the last three years making a living as a professional sheath maker. In that time, I have made thousands of leather sheaths with my bare hands. At one point I tracked close to five hundred sheaths in one month alone. That is not an exaggeration or a typo. I’ve made leather sheaths for makers such as Bark River Knives, D.Tope Knives, Hess Knives, and other makers as well as distributors such as DLT Trading and Blade HQ. Today I lead DeltaSheath.com servicing the American knife community directly.
The experience and the unique methods developed with such a high volume of execution is what my customers receive each time they unwrap a new leather sheath from Delta Sheath. And now I have put together a one-day training class that will pass that experience on to you.
This training class is great for knife makers who want to make great leather sheaths for their bladework or knife lovers who wish to make great sheaths for their knives.
If your goal is business minded I can save you a lot of time and money. If you're a knife maker at any scale and you'd like to add a professional in-house leather work to your operation, this is a great place to start.
In this training class you will learn everything you need to know to get started. From tools, supplies and vendors to design and execution. You will even learn how to get our signature glass edges on your own work and much more. A list of suppliers and vendors for everything you would need will also be provided.
There will be lecture and hands-on lab. Of course, you will also build a sheath or two from our available models for you to take home. If you're looking to make a different or more customized sheath we can work that out as well. I aim to give you the full context of information you will need to reach your goal.
This class will take place at my shop in Munising, Michigan. Lodging is not included but there are plenty of options nearby. Contact me for the latest list of hotel/restaurant options.
